About Ape Studio
Ape Studio came about from my love of songwriting, recording and mixing my own songs. Like many people, I started with a small setup on my dining-room table. Since then, it has developed into a dedicated, sound-treated home studio.
There is a dedicated performance area with a good choice of guitars and an AKG C214 vocal microphone for live recordings.
I’ve recorded several artists live here at the studio, as well as mixing, mastering and supplying drum tracks for musicians around the world.
I have also contributed mixing work to a video-game project, both from my own studio and while working in Japan.
Meet Eddie
I have been recording and mixing music for over 25 years. From the early 1990s onwards, my brother and I played in various cover bands in France and the USA. We played so many memorable gigs, especially the outdoor gigs for the Fete de la Musique in France. We also did a fair bit of songwriting and recording back then, which is where my mixing story began.
My previous career as a high-end private chef, cooking for some very demanding customers, has led to an eye (and ear!) for exacting detail. Like cooking at that level, every component of a music project must serve the finished result and receive careful attention. That has always been my tenet.

In my spare time I am a very keen gardener. There’s something about planting a seed, nurturing it and watching it grow to a fully formed plant or vegetable. In many ways, it is similar to music production: taking an initial idea, nurturing it and turning it into a fully formed song.
